The story
The challenge
Memorial websites carry weight. The Wrangell community needed a site that balanced solemnity with warmth, organized decades of mariner history, and gave family members an authoritative way to submit and update tribute records — without exposing the public-facing tone to the rough edges of an admin interface.
What we built
Two-layer build: a respectful public memorial with maritime heritage storytelling, plus a dedicated admin dashboard for moderating tributes, managing the mariner archive, and handling submission workflows. The admin layer is the unsung hero — extensive logic for record approval, image handling, and historical data structure.
What happened
Currently in active development. Will serve as a permanent digital monument for the Wrangell community and the families of mariners lost at sea, with a maintainable backend the community can operate themselves.
The admin dashboard nobody sees
Behind the public memorial sits one of the most time-intensive admin builds we've shipped — record approval workflows, historical data management, image moderation, and a structured maritime archive system. It's the work the community will rely on for decades, even though visitors will never see it.
